Actor Alex Pettyfer's Beverly Hills Home Catches Fire

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Actor Alex Pettyfer might be taking the "hottie" label a bit too seriously.

The home of the British-born model-turned actor caught fire Thursday night but he still appeared at the premiere of his new film, "Beastly."

The fire was reported at 5:41 p.m. in the 1300 block of N. Beverly Drive, just bordering Beverly Hills, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Pettyfer co-stars with Vanessa Hudgens in the film "Beastly," which premiered Thursday night at The Grove. He's also starring in the movie "I Am Number Four."

Pettyfer walked the red carpet, did interviews and introduced the film at the premiere but left after a short time presumably to deal with the fire.

He told KCAL 9's Suzanne Marques he was simply "glad" to be at the premiere, not wanting to discuss the fire in any great detail.

Firefighters arriving at the home reported flames showing from a detached garage, Scott said. The detached garage had been converted into an apartment.

With 27 LAFD firefighters on the scene and help from Beverly Hills Fire Department, the blaze was under control in 24 minutes, Scott said.

No injuries were reported.

Pettyfer has been romantically linked with "Glee" star Dianna Agron (she plays Quinn) who co-stars opposite him in "I Am Number Four." The 20-year-old Pettyfer has also been linked to Emma Roberts.
