Man Shot On MTA Bus In Glassell Park
GLASSELL PARK — A 39-year-old man was shot and wounded on a MTA bus in Glassell Park.
The shooting happened around 10:30 Wednesday morning in the 3700 block of Eagle Rock Blvd. near Riverside Drive, according to authorities.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials the victim was on the bus with his 16-year-old son when another passenger, possibly a gang member, pulled out a gun, apparently intending to shoot the teen. The father was shot three times while trying to protect his son. Only a few passengers were on board.
The victim was later found on a bus bench. He taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
A suspect has been arrested. There is no word on what caused the altercation.
