LOS ANGELES (CBS) — It’s Valentine’s Day but it’s also “Clean Out Your Computer Day.’

Cupid might get all the chocolates, flowers, cards and…attention.

But cleaning out your computer is also important. The average person spends 13 minutes a day waiting for their computer to work. And that adds up.

What!? You never heard of ‘Clean Out Your Computer Day’!? It’s been held since 2000!

Fortunately, for you…Lou DaRe, from iolo technologies, was an in-studio guest on the KCAL 9 News at 2 p.m. Monday to talk about this very important, yet neglected, day.

DaRe talked about the importance of keeping the computer clean, both inside and out, and free from clutter and junk files.

The guest is wrong, it is not always safe to use window cleaner on your computer. Ammonia bases cleaners will eat into the plastic on your LCD screens, causing them to fog. A product specially marketed for cleaning your LCD screen is best to use.
