Missing Menifee Man Found Safe In San Pedro

MENIFEE (CBS2) — Authorities Sunday said a 20-year-old Riverside County man who disappeared last week has been found safe.

The California Highway Patrol picked up Douglass Henry Hurd about 3 a.m. Sunday. He was discovered wandering near the 110 Freeway in San Pedro.

Hurd, who appeared to be unharmed, was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

The Menifee man was reported missing last week after his car was found abandoned and blocking traffic in West Hollywood.

According to authorities, he had called his brother that day to inform him that he had run out of gas and was lost before his cell phone died. Some of his belongings were found Friday near Hollywood High School.
