Next LAUSD Chief: Free Health Care For All Students
LOS ANGELES (CBS) —Months before even taking office, the incoming Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District has voiced his own version of health care reform that has some people shaking their heads.
KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports John Deasy is a man with a vision: free health insurance for all students.

John Deasy won't take over the reigns of the LAUSD until April, but at a Loyola Marymount Forum, he indicated that the district could perhaps leverage companies that already provide health care for employees to help make this a reality.
However, considering the massive budget deficit facing the city, such a proposal may have trouble ever getting off the ground.
