Tip Leads To Arrest in Norco Hit-And-Run

NORCO (CBS) — A 19-year-old suspect is under arrest Wednesday for a hit-and- run collision in Norco that severely injured a BMX competitive bicyclist.

Andrew Dean Murvine was arrested around 7 p.m. Tuesday after a tipster informed Riverside County sheriff's investigators that the Norco resident was allegedly involved in the Jan. 24 collision that left Tyler Rosen fighting for his life.

The 18-year-old remains in a medically induced coma, according to sheriff's Sgt. Justin Rowan.

Investigators received a call on Tuesday alleging that Murvine driving the dark-colored pickup truck that slammed into Rosen as he walked in the 2500 block of Norco Drive.

According to sheriff's investigators, Rosen was on a trail adjacent to the road when a pickup truck veered across traffic lanes and struck him. Witnesses reported the driver turned around and looked at the unconscious victim before racing away.

Deputies arrested Murvine without incident, Rowan said. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
