Winter Weather Advisory In Effect In LA County Mountains

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The rain that doused the Southland has mostly moved out of the area Tuesday, but cold temperatures are expected to create wintery driving conditions in the mountains overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday because of gusty northwest to north winds and snow showers in the mountains of Los Angeles County.

"Travel may be hazardous due to limited visibility and slippery roads across mountain roadways," according to a Weather Service statement.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties, including slippery roads and limited visibility.
