Ex-State Hospital Chief To Testify On Sex Charges
LONG BEACH (AP) — A former state mental hospital director will take the stand to deny he sexually abused one of his adopted sons and other men who claimed he molested them when they were children.
Sixty-three-year-old Claude Foulk will testify on Monday in a trial on 35 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
Foulk has pleaded not guilty. He flatly denied the allegations in initial testimony in his own defense Friday.
Authorities contend 13 men including one of Foulk's adopted sons and one of his four foster sons came forward to claim he molested them as children as far back as 1965. Only one case could be prosecuted due to the statute of limitations.
He was fired from his post as director of Napa State Hospital after his arrest.
