Fullerton Pulls Away From UC Santa Barbara 63-58

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) -- Orane Chin had 18 points and Cal State-Fullerton used a 9-0 run in the closing minutes to pull out a 63-58 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night.

The Titans (8-12, 4-4 Big West) trailed 50-49 with 4:19 remaining before Chin hit a pair of free throws to spark the run.

Perry Webster capped it with a 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining, and Fullerton hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Devon Peltier added 14 points and Andre Hardy 12 for the Titans, who shot only 41 percent and committed 17 turnovers. But Fullerton hit 24 of 31 free throws, compared to just 10 of 13 for Santa Barbara.

James Nunally led the Gauchos (10-7, 3-3) with 19 points. Orlando Johnson added 17 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

Santa Barbara trailed 36-22 after Fullerton opened the second half with an 11-2 run, but the Gauchos scored 23 of the next 26 points to take a 45-39 lead with 7:58 remaining.
