Woman Shot In Throat In Lakeview Terrace Brawl
LAKE VIEW TERRACE (CBS) — Police say a woman was shot in the throat and three men were injured in Lakeview Terrace during a bloody brawl.
The trouble started about 12:15 a.m. in the 11000 block of Sutter Avenue and moved to the 13300 block of Paxton Street, according to police and firefighters, when a man tried to visit his ex-girlfriend and a child on Sutter but was turned away.
The man returned with a gunman, and a three-way fight broke out, Lt. Robert Davis said.
The woman was shot in the throat, and the gunman got brained with a grapefruit-sized rock, Davis said. The other two men suffered scrapes and a leg injury.
The man who got hit with the rock is expected to be hospitalized several days, Davis said. The other two men are expected to be OK, and the woman shot in the throat is expected to recover, he said.
Detectives are treating the case as an attempted murder, Davis said. The shooter's name was unavailable early Saturday.
