Woman Fatally Struck By Car On 110 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 25-year-old Van Nuys woman was killed early Monday morning when she was struck by a vehicle on the right side of the northbound 110 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman, whose vehicle reportedly broke down, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 3:15 a.m. south of First Street, the CHP reported.

Her name was not immediately released.

According to the preliminary report, the woman stepped onto the No. 6 freeway lane, where she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Diamond Bar woman, the CHP reported.

The motorist, whose name was not released, was interviewed by officers, but was not arrested, the CHP reported.
