Culver City Man Pleads Not Guilty To DUI Double Homicide

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  Jorge Alberto Molina, the Culver City man accused of driving drunk and causing a wreck that killed a husband and wife on New Year's Eve, pleaded not guilty Friday to double murder charges.

Molina, 27, also is charged with leaving the scene of the crash.

Kelvin and Demetria Dorsey were killed at Florence Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard when a car allegedly driven by Molina plowed into them.

Police said they saw the driver of white Geo Prism run a red light while heading west on Florence at Van Ness Avenue and began pursuing the vehicle around 11:30 p.m. last Friday.

The driver ran through another red light at Florence and Crenshaw before slamming into an Infinity SUV being driven by Demetria Dorsey, 50, police said.

The Infiniti flipped onto its roof. Dorsey and her 54-year-old husband both died at the scene.

Molina allegedly tried to run away, but was quickly arrested by pursuing officers.

Molina, who is due back in court Jan. 20, faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted.
