WESTMINSTER (AP)  — A former Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy has pleaded guilty to the off-duty firing of a weapon in her Westminster home and filing a false police report against her ex-husband.

Orange County prosecutors say 43-year-old Patricia Bojorquez entered the plea Thursday to a felony count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence and a misdemeanor count of falsely reporting a crime.

The second charge came from a police report saying her ex-husband was sexually assaulting a 13-year-old relative.

Prosecutors said Bojorquez lied about the incident because she was upset over custody issues.

Bojorquez was sentenced to one year in jail and five years probation.

Prosecutors said in November 2009, Bojorquez fired a bullet inside her home that pierced a bedroom window and exited the home toward a residential street.
