Man Rescued After Car Tumbles Into Embankment
GLENDORA (CBS) — A man whose car tumbled about 150 feet down an embankment in the Angeles National Forest near the San Gabriel Reservoir was rescued Tuesday after spending nearly a full day trapped in the wreckage, authorities said.
Crews carried the man to safety after about 90 minutes. The man complained of back pain, County Fire Inspector Matt Levesque said.
A California Highway Patrol officer saw tire tracks going off the roadway, stopped to investigate, and then contacted the fire department, Levesque said.
Searchers found the man within a half-hour.
