Woman Spends Night In Mud-Mired Car

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman who spent the night in her mud-mired car has been rescued and is hospitalized in good condition.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales says the woman was found Sunday morning in a hilly area near Mount Washington.

She apparently become disoriented after suffering a medical condition and backed her car into a mudslide area, where she became stuck.

Gales says it's unclear how long the victim spent in the engulfed car but it was apparently a number of hours.

She was treated for mild hypothermia. Her name and age were not released.

City transportation department workers have been called to close the road and remove the mud.
