Brian Setzer Cancels Concert Because Of Foot Infection

RANCHO MIRAGE (CBS) — A foot infection has hobbled Brian Setzer, whose band was scheduled to play a concert at Agua Caliente Casino Resort and spa Thursday night.

Kool and the Gang will play Thursday instead. Tickets for the Brian Setzer Orchestra will be honored for the Kool and the Gang concert, which begins at 9 p.m., resort spokeswoman Therese Everett-Kerley said.

"Having Kool and the Gang is just our way of saying we're sorry for the inconvenience," Kerley said.

The Brian Setzer Orchestra will play at a later date, and tickets bought for Thursday night's show will be honored at that time.

Setzer said in a statement that "the last thing I want to do is cancel a show," but his medical issues left him with no choice. He said his foot started swelling on Christmas Day and he was unable to walk.

"I am confined to the couch and it has since gotten worse, I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused," said Setzer, who also cancelled a New Year's Eve show in Sacramento. "I have played many shows with the flu and other such ailments, but I can't take this one lightly."
