Los Angeles police say three men armed with semi-automatic handguns entered a liquor store in the 6000 block of South Avalon Boulevard Sunday night. One of the suspects chased one of the two employees into the back of the store, while the other employee was able to lock himself in a room.

The other two suspects demanded money from the register, and the suspects stuff the money and merchandise from the store into a bag, police said.

The trio got away in a grey four-door compact car, which was driven by a fourth suspect. This gang of robbers are believed to be behind several other robberies in the area.

All three robbers are described as African-American men in their early 20s. One suspect is further described as about 6 feet tall and 260 pounds. The second suspect also is about 6 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. The third suspect is about 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 160 pounds. There was no description available for the driver of the getaway car.

Anyone with information on the case can contact Newton division detectives Chris Marsden or Guillermo Medina at (323) 846-6572.
