(CBS) — The Los Angeles Lakers will trade guard Sasha Vujacic and a first-round draft pick to New Jersey in a three-way deal that brings poward forward Joe Smith to the Lakers.

Terrence Williams will go from New Jersey to the Houston Rockets according to various reports.

The deal can’t be announced until December 15, according to NBA rules that prohibit offseason signees from being traded. Vujacic is on the bench and in uniform as the Lakers battle the Washington Wizards.

Smith, a 15-year veteran was the 1st overall pick in the 1995 draft by the Golden State Warriors.

Vujacic has been a Laker since being drafted in 2004, and is engaged to Maria Sharapova.
