Police: Santa Ana Officer Kills Knife-Wielding Man
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say an officer shot and killed a man brandishing a knife in an alley in Orange County.

Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said Saturday that 21-year-old Andres Ramirez of North Carolina was declared dead at Western Medical Center. He had been in the area visiting relatives.
Bertagna says two officers on foot patrol were responding to a call saying gang members were loitering in the alley just after 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Bertagna says the man came at one of the officers with a knife, and the officer shot the man once.
Bertagna says a knife that likely belonged to the suspect was recovered.
He says Ramirez had earlier convictions for possession of marijuana and evading police officers.
