COMPTON (CBS) — A pedestrian was fatally struck Saturday on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Compton, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident, which occurred about 4:15 a.m., took place in the northbound lanes just north of Alondra Boulevard, CHP Officer Ed Jacobs said.

It was unclear if the person had gotten out of a wrecked or disabled vehicle, he said.

A SigAlert was canceled at 6:52 a.m.

    i was driving thru there and saw the body lying on the floor it was so confuseing it looke like if that person might of been taging cause chp was looking at writing on the wall
