Top 100 list sees new female favorite

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — With so many new responsibilities that expecting parents face, perhaps the most contentious is what to name that little bundle of joy. But a new report can give some helpful suggestions.

Sophia took the top spot from Isabella, while Aiden dominated the boys’ list for the sixth consecutive year.

So which ones lost their appeal in 2010? Linda Murray, editor-in-chief of, joins KFWB’s Maggie McKay with details.

After evaluating data from hundreds of thousands of parents, the list’s compilers show Abigail among the most popular names for the first time ever, while Liam soared from No. 23 to into the top 10.
