LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fiery crash on a Los Angeles freeway has killed one person and injured three others.

The California Highway Patrol says several cars were involved in the crash at about 4:45 a.m. Monday on the westbound Interstate 10 in the Jefferson Park area. One car was engulfed in flames.

CHP Officer Christian Baldonado tells City News Service that a woman in her 50s died at the scene. Her name wasn't released.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says one person has serious injuries and two others have minor injuries.

All westbound lanes were blocked for about four hours during the morning commute but two have been reopened.

The accident is under investigation.
