Larry King Heads Up Hollywood Christmas Parade

HOLLYWOOD (CBS/AP) — CNN's Larry King acted as the grand marshal of the 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade as it marched down Hollywood Boulevard Sunday night.

 

Other celebrities braved the cold weather and joined the festivities, including former "CHiPs" star Erik Estrada, "Dancing With the Stars" finalist Kyle Massey, Dick Van Dyke and Stefanie Powers. Many of the cast members of the Disney Channel shows "Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Goodluck Charlie" were there.

Metro was expected to add capacity on its Red Line trains to accommodate spectators.

The parade, which began in 1928, includes marching bands, equestrian units, floats and balloons.

It was nearly canceled in 2007 after it ran into financial trouble.

It was saved when the city of Los Angeles stepped in to help underwrite the cost.
