Storm Brings Wind, Rain, Snow To SoCal
LOS ANGELES (AP) — For a second straight day, Southern California was hit by a storm that brought strong winds, periods of intense rain and snow to higher elevations.
Chains are required Sunday for drivers on snowy highways near the Mountain High Ski Area in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles.
As much as two inches of rain was reported in some areas.
The California Highway Patrol reported 275 traffic crashes in Los Angeles County between 5 and 9 a.m., compared to 27 crashes in the same period last week.
The storm had mostly passed through by early afternoon and the National Weather Service cancelled its warnings.
A wind advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. for the Antelope Valley, where winds out of the southwest will be blowing at 25-35 mph and gusting up 50 mph.
