Struggling Food Banks Short On Thanksgiving Turkeys

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — At least one local food bank will be giving out more chickens than turkeys this Thanksgiving thanks to record demand amid a lingering recession.

Michael Flood of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank says while donations are up, demand is even higher and is putting a strain on the bank's resources. He says that tough times have have put donors themselves on the unemployment line, and encourages those who can help to visit the food bank's website to donate.
