Chrysler To Open Four-Story Downtown LA 'Motor Village'

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Chrysler officials said on Monday the company will open a "Motor Village" dealership just east of the Harbor (110) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles in 2011, highlighted by a five-story-tall glass tower and digital message boards visible to motorists.

"The Los Angeles Motor Village goes above and beyond the traditional Chrysler Group dealership," Peter Grady, Chrysler Group's vice president of network development and fleet, said. "This dealership creates a presence both inside and out. Our customers will experience our brands in unique salons that reflect each brand's identity and character."

The Motor Village is expected to open the first quarter of next year at 2025 S. Figueroa St., a location that once housed a Pierce-Arrow dealership. It will be the first Chrysler dealership presence in the central Los Angeles area in almost a decade, according to the company.

Company officials said the project would be reminiscent of an auto-show atmosphere, with each brand — Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck, Fiat and Mopar — occupying different "salons" with decor relatable to each brand.

For instance, the Jeep salon will include vehicles on recreations of off-road rock slabs, company officials said.
