Authorities said both men were injured, one seriously, in the blaze which broke out at an upholstery shop in the 13600 block of West Victory Boulevard around 4 p.m.

It took 30 firefighters about 12 minutes to put out the fire, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

"One adult victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries," Scott said. A second victim was being treated at the scene for minor injuries, Scott added.

Los Angeles police were notified of the fire because an explosion was reported. An investigation was underway into the possibility that a "bug bomb" may have somehow contributed to the fire.
