Meet The Challenge At The LA Tamale Throwdown

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Are you ready for a tamale throwdown?

The Eastside Bike Club is inviting Los Angeles to the LA Tamale Throwdown, a festival celebrating the tamale Friday and Saturday Nov. 12-13 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Rose Hill, 4522 Browne Ave. in Los Angeles.

The event will bring together tamale vendors representing different regions of Mexico and Central America. Think you really love tamales? Then try out the different flavors of tamales and decide for yourself what deserves the Best Tamale award.

Bikers are welcome and the Flying Pigeon LA bike shop will be providing free bike valet.

The event is free, but organizers are asking for a donation of a canned food item that will be distributed to needy families during Thanksgiving.
