Time's Up! Man Nabbed For Allegedly Stealing $6K Watch

SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — Police in Santa Clarita Wednesday announced the arrest of a 22-year-old man they say stole a $6,000 watch from the Valencia Town Center Mall last week.

Officials say Brandon Carrera stole the watch -- a Tag Heuer-- around 5 p.m. a week ago from a jewelry shop inside the mall.

According to Lt. Dustin Stillwell of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, detectives saw a similar watch being offered for sale on the Internet.

They set up a meeting with Carreram outside the same mall. He reportedly showed them the watch in question.

Detectives say Carrera matches the description of the suspect caught on surveillance video.

Police said Carrera resisted arrest and that he and the deputies trying to take him into custody fell into a glass fragrance display case at Macy's causing it to shatter.

Carrera was then taken into custody.

Officials say he is being held on suspicion of grand theft, burglary and forcibly resisting a police officer.

He is being held on $25,000 bail.
