Couple, 2 Dogs OK After Crash-Landing At John Wayne
SANTA ANA (AP) — A couple and their two dogs are OK after their small plane crash-landed at John Wayne Airport.
City News Service says the 7:50 p.m. Sunday emergency shut down the Orange County airport's main runway for nearly an hour.
Sheriff's Lt. Tony Romero says pilot Lloyd Kasakoff told investigators the console light went on indicating the landing gear was down.
The badly damaged Mooney aircraft was cleared away and the incident is being investigated.
