LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A “high-risk” sex offender who was paroled earlier this month surrendered to authorities Thursday morning.

Valentino Rodriguez, who was paroled Oct. 4, removed his GPS tracking device Monday at an Arco station in South Los Angeles, sheriff’s officials said.

He was seen getting into an LAPD patrol car just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
