LOS ANGELES (AP) — The California Medical Board is accusing a fertility doctor of implanting octuplets mother Nadya Suleman with 12 embryos in her last pregnancy.

The number of embryos alleged Monday at a licensing hearing in Los Angeles is twice the amount Suleman claimed Dr. Michael Kamrava implanted for each of her pregnancies. She says two of the embryos split before she gave birth to octuplets last year.

State Medical Board Claims Suleman’s Fertility Doctor Failed to Provide Proper Standard of Care, KNX 1070’s Jon Baird reports.

Deputy Attorney General Judith Alvarado made the allegation in openings statements on behalf of the board, which wants to revoke or suspend the doctor’s license.

Kamrava helped Suleman conceive her octuplets and six other children through in vitro fertilization.

Fertility specialists have criticized Kamrava’s methods, saying he endangered Suleman’s health and the long-term health of the babies.

None of the things mentioned in the complaint are laws. They are only suggestions. The intention of the Medical Board is to harass the Doctor. Fertility by implantation is not in the practice of medicine.

diana duro, it’t not a matter of picking on Suleman, although she is probably one of the most irresponsible adults I’ve heard of. It’s a matter of the doctor practicing unethically and imposing serious harm or death to Suleman and those babies. I wish with all my might that this doctor’s license is revoked and/or removed completely and permanently. What he contributed to the hardships of Suleman and now most likely the community is reprehensible. How could this so-called professional think that a single woman with no income and already 5 children could possibly care for even one more child is ridiculous. He clearly does not have the factors in his brain to weigh out situations and make the right choices. So, diana duro, when Suleman is out on the streets and standing in line for welfare and food stamps, why don’t you open your home and protect her and her brood from being picked on? Better yet, why don’t you just send her money? That’s what she’s looking for anyway. I don’t feel sorry for her one bit and you shouldn’t either. I feel sorry for those kids that they have her for a mother, but she’s a grown adult and should’ve kept her already-born children in their best interest. She didn’t.
