OC Wheelchair Woman's Death Wasn't Homicide

SANTA ANA (AP) — Authorities have ruled out homicide in the death of a woman whose body was found next to her wheelchair at an Orange County bus stop.

Santa Ana police spokesman Anthony Bertagna says an autopsy determined that the woman probably died from natural causes or a drug overdose. Toxicology tests will determine whether drugs were involved.

Fifty-seven-year-old Rosemarie Sylvia Lopez was found dead Wednesday morning behind a bus bench in Santa Ana.

Bertagna initially suspected she was killed because she had facial injuries, but Bertagna tells City News Service the woman may have been hurt when she tumbled out of her wheelchair.
