Arleta Man Stabbed In Face With Screwdriver

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police say an Arleta man was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver and
beaten when he confronted someone he believed to be tampering with his car early Friday morning.

The gruesome attack was reported about 1:10 a.m. in the 9500 block of Remick
Avenue, said Sgt. Jim Reid of the Los Angeles police Foothill Station.

The victim went outside because somebody was tampering with his red
Toyota Camry, Reid said.

A male stabbed him with a screwdriver in the cheek and shoulder, and
other males jumped on him and beat him, before fleeing in an identical red Toyota Camry,
according to reports.

The culprits may have been looking for parts, Reid said.

The victim was hospitalized to get several stitches.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the crime to call the Foothill
Station at (818) 756-8861.
