Michele Gile, reporting for CBS 2 and KCAL 9, said investigators did not believe speed or alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash but that they were still investigating the cause.
No charges have been filed against Von Grote, according to Westminster Police Officer Van Woodson.
Woodson said all three teens were wearing seat belts.
Gile reported that Kessler was thrown from the vehicle and pinned. She also reported that all of the victims had to be rescued using the jaws of life.MORE NEWS: At Least 2 Homes Destroyed When Wind-Whipped Fire Rips Through Bloomington Neighborhood
