Chargers RB Mathews Has High Ankle Sprain

SAN DIEGO (CBS) - Chargers rookie running back sat out of practice Wednesday due to a high ankle sprain he suffered in last weeks game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

High ankle sprains usually take 4 to 6 weeks to heal, but he told San Diego Union Tribune reporter Kevin Acee that he is okay and hopeful to play Sunday against Seattle Seawhawks.

Mike Tolbert will replace the rookie running back if he is unable to play.

Tennesee-Giants will be the first game of a double header on Sunday September 26 starting at 10am, followed by San Diego-Seattle on CBS 2 at 1PM.
