Man Pleads Not Guilty In Co-Worker Semen Attack

SANTA ANA (CBS) — A Fullerton man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two misdemeanors for allegedly ejaculating into a female co-worker's water bottle.

Michael Kevin Lallana, 31, allegedly tainted the water bottle in her office at Northwestern Mutual Mortgage Co. in Newport Beach on Jan. 14.

The woman, identified in court papers as Jane Doe, drank the water when she returned to the office and got ill, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. The unidentified woman has retained attorney Gloria Allred with whom she appeared today at a press conference.

Lallana allegedly repeated the crime in April, after he and the woman had been transferred to the company's office in Orange. Prosecutors said the woman again drank the water and got sick. This time, however, she had the water bottle tested.

In June, the woman was contacted by the lab and told the water contained semen. She then called Orange police, who linked Lallana to the crime by DNA, according to prosecutors.

Lallana is charged with two misdemeanor counts each of releasing an offensive material in a public place and assault, along with the allegation of committing a crime for sexual gratification. He was arrested at his home, booked and released on $500 bond.

Allred hailed her client as a hero.

"I will say that she is the hero in this disgusting situation," she said.

"She suspected that something was very wrong with the water in her water bottle and she had the good judgment to take the bottle to a laboratory to be tested," Allred said. "She then notified the police of the laboratoryresults. Had it not been for her actions and investigation, the suspect in this case might never have been apprehended."

The victim has agreed to be a witness for the prosecution, should the case come to trial, Allred said.

"While the victim in this case is horrified and disgusted and emotionally traumatized by what she was forced to suffer by the perpetrator of the crimes against her, she is nevertheless willing to cooperate and be a witness in this case if it is necessary to do so."

Lallana is next due in court for a pretrial hearing Oct. 14.
