Pregnant Woman Wounded In Long Beach Shooting

LONG BEACH (CBS) — Police Sunday arrested two men in a shooting that left a pregnant woman wounded in Long Beach.

The shooting, which took place in the 1100 block of Norman Court, happened at around 1 a.m., a police spokesman said.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Long Beach police Officer Israel Ramirez said.

A SWAT team surrounded a house where the suspect was holed up and nearby homes were evacuated.

"As they [SWAT team] were preparing to stage, the residents of the home came out and the shooter was arrested," at about 3 a.m., Officer Israel Ramirez said. The names of the two men who were arrested have been withheld.

A large group of people from the home were temporarily detained at Lincoln Elementary School until the shooter was identified, Officer Christopher Morgan told a local television news station.
