Arraignment Set For Man Accused Of Murdering His Father

POMONA (CBS) — A Hollywood man arrested on suspicion of killing his father is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Jonathan Pedraza, 24, is expected to appear in Pomona Superior Court on one count each of murder and vandalism causing more than $400 in damage and two counts of hit-and-run.

Pedraza allegedly crashed his vehicle through an exit gate at A-1 Mini Storage on Irwindale Avenue at around 4 p.m. Friday.

When Irwindale police were called to the scene, they found the body 62-year-old Miguel L. Pedraza in a storage unit, according to sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.

The younger Pedraza was arrested after he was involved in another crash in Baldwin Park, Hecht said.

Authorities said the father appeared to have been beaten to death.
