Elderly Man Gets Jail Time For Molesting Boy

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — An elderly Southern California man has been sentenced to 300 days in jail for molesting a 12-year-old boy he enlisted to help move furniture.

A Rancho Cucamonga judge on Friday ordered 81-year-old Clarence Gordon to serve the first 100 days of his sentence in San Bernardino County jail and the remainder of the time at home under house arrest. He must register as a sex offender.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin says Gordon was arrested June 18 after the boy told police Gordon molested him after inviting him to his house.

Gordon, a retired steelworker and married father of two, had asked the boy's mother if the boy could come over to help him move furniture.
