LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 31-year-old man running across the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles was struck by a sport utility vehicle and is hospitalized in stable condition.

The CHP says the Newport Beach man was running east across the freeway when he was hit by a 2000 Ford Explorer driven by a 33-year-old Canoga Park woman. The names of the victim and the driver were not released.READ MORE: Pasadena Considers Technology To Help Law Enforcement Detect Gunshots
Investigators are trying to determine what the man was doing in traffic.
