91 Freeway Reopened After Downed Power Lines Cleared

FULLERTON (KCAL 9) — Authorities have reopened both sides of the 91 Freeway after a big rig truck with an oversized load knocked down power lines, which landed across lanes and sparked a small brush fire.

The freeway, which was closed at about 2 p.m., was reopened about 3:45 p.m.

CHP Officers initially reported live wires ignited a small grass fire north of the freeway immediately after the accident happened at 1:37 p.m.

The accident also knocked out power to freeway advisory signs that alerted motorists to the freeway closure.
