The Orange County Fair is back in town. From July 17 to August 16, festival-goers will celebrate the OC Fair's 125th anniversary by jumping on fun carnival rides, attending concerts and demolition derbies, and of course, eating some of the most delicious food around.

Chicken Charlie's never fails to disappoint with new deep fried creations. This year, Deep-Fried Doritos and Deep-Fried Chicken Skin join the already belt busting at the seams lineup of fried treats. Don't forget to sample their Deep-Fried Twinkies and Oreos or try a bite of last year's hit, the Krispie Kreme Sloppy Joe: a mound of sloppy Joe style ground beef piled on top of a Krispy Kreme donut and shredded cheese. It may be calorie rich but its delicious!

Their new focal point: the Bacon-Wrapped Jack Daniels, which is essentially a Jack Daniels filled churro wrapped with bacon. Truffle Gouda Bacon Fries, Bacon Root Beer, and Bacon Bombs are just a few of the other amazing offerings at Bacon-A-Fair.

They may not be easy on the waste line, but Tasti Chips does pride themselves on quality ingredients. They use only fresh, seasonal potatoes, allergen free peanut oil, the best available, quality cheeses, and real bacon. New for this year, their Garlic Parmesan Shakers are a great addition to their hand-cut potato chips, onion rings, and cheese topped French fries.

In addition to serving their namesake Apple Fries (lightly breaded, fried, and topped with cinnamon, sugar, and whipped cream), Apple Fries also serves up churros, ice cream, chocolate, and a massive made-to-share dish, the Mexican Funnel Cake. This churro crossed funnel cake creation is deep fried, topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Big enough to share, but worth the single-serving splurge.

If you are searching for something a bit more light, consider a meal at The Pineapple Express. Their shrimp bowls (served in a fresh pineapple bowl) satisfy your sinful cravings without breaking the calorie bank. Additional offerings include fresh pineapple, chicken kabobs, shrimp cocktail, a teriyaki chicken bowl, and a few sinful treats: fried spam and fried pineapple to name two.
