It's the beginning of the new year and the following restaurants have great views with even more amazing food. Steak specials, tasty brunch menus, and new kids fare. The following is a roundup of delicious restaurants in Orange County serving up special menus this week.

New Healthy Kids Menu at Bluewater Grill - Lido Beach

This innovative New England-style seafood pub with an Orange County flare has a beautiful location right on the water. Kids are welcome at the Bluewater Grill and to help parents keep their lil' minnows healthy, the kids menu has been revamped with healthier choices. The fried fish and shrimp have been replaced along with other dishes. Now kids can enjoy a child-size bento box with grilled seafood, vegetables and fruit.

Bluewater Grill has just received approval from Kids Live Well, a program of the National Restaurant Association and Healthy Dining. The new kids menu offers pasta, grilled cheese or grilled chicken, cod, shrimp or salmon skewered. The bento box also contains carrot sticks and fruit, and a choice of fruit juice or low-fat milk. The choices don't end there -- kids can also choose from steamed veggies, edamame, salad, fries or mashed potatoes. The restaurant staff will help parents with picky eaters find something delicious to eat.

Bundle up and head out to Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill in Costa Mesa. Z'Tejas is offering a new menu of warm hearty meals and winter-inspired cocktails until March 3. Try a Mandarin turkey salad with honey and lime balsamic vinaigrette for lunch or a Southwestern seafood skillet featuring lobster, scallops, shrimp and crab meat topped with bacon gratin and chipotle puree and wash it all down with a Muddy Winter, made with tequila, crème de cocoa white, Frangelico and half and half.
