Get your laugh on at the 3rd Annual Westside Showdown Standup Competition. The show is Tuesday, May 22 and starts at 7 p.m. This show is the last preliminary round for the best stand-ups. The comedians are competing for $500 cash, a paid gig at LMU and more. Finals are held on June 5. The audience can participate by voting for their favorite comedian. Admission is $10.

Forest Lawn is hosting the The Los Angeles Premiere of Nathan Sawaya's Art of the Brick. This amazing exhibit of sculptures is made entirely out of Lego bricks. Nathan Sawaya is a New-York based artist and his world-famous exhibit has been featured on "The Today Show," "Conan" and "The Colbert Report." CNN has also hailed the exhibit as one of the top 12 exhibitions in the world. Parking and admission is free, but it is closed on Mondays. The exhibit runs through July 21.

The Market at Santa Monica Place will launch its Good Food Fridays on May 31, a free community event where food lovers can check out cooking demonstrations, food and wine samples and enjoy 10 percent off all purchases at The Market during the event. The Market features gourmet purveyors like Venokado Wine & Gifts, N'Ice Cream, M.A.K.E. By Matthew Kenney, The Curious Cheese Shoppe and Chocolate Opulence. There will be special guests like World Flavorz Spice & Tea Co. and Heidi's Salsa, along with live music by Koffeehouse. The event is from 7 to 10 p.m. and the first 200 people through the door will receive a complimentary reusable shopping tote. Good Food Fridays will take place last Friday of every month.

Join the fight against arthritis at the 2013 Arthritis Walk. The Arthritis Walk is the non-profit Arthritis Foundation's annual event where people across the country join together to celebrate and raise awareness of this debilitating disease. Participate in the walk, starting in Santa Monica, to help make a positive impact on the lives of people afflicted with arthritis. Currently, the Los Angeles walk is the second largest in the country and every year raises more than $400,000 to help find a cure. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.
