Memorial Day weekend is upon us and what better way to celebrate than a night out on the town? We’ve rounded up a list of events to occupy your evenings. Start off with a photo exhibition in Beverly Hills and maybe end the weekend with a date at a drive-in movie. There’s something for everyone.

Identical: Portraits of Twins

What started out as an assignment for National Geographic magazine has become a full-fledged book deal and exhibition. Former assistant to Annie Leibovitz and German photographer Martin Schoeller captures the facial differentiation between twins. The gallery is hosted by the Ace Gallery in Beverly Hills.

Stop by the LACMA for their weekly Hollywood movie screening. Classic flicks from the Columbia Pictures library are broadcasted on 35mm films. May 21 will feature “Dishonored,” a 1931 spy film rife with romance and suspense. The synopsis: during World War I, a lady spy betrays enemy officers, until she falls in love with one. General admission is $4.

It’s a monthly duel between some of the best mixologists in the City of Angels. Contestants will be given William Grant & Sons spirits and asked to create a cocktail. Judges will be on hand to give out the verdicts and the champion will be awarded a grand prize trip to a cocktail expo in New Orleans.

Big Bear Star Party

From Thursday to Monday, May 27, the YMCA Camp Oakes in Big Bear City will be hosting a premiere star party event. Think daily telescope viewings, astronomy talks and night hikes. It’s a haven for amateur astrologists and telescope fanatics. Camping space, dorms and shelters will be available for visitors.

Cinefamily’s Most Outrageous Cults

Pay tribute to belief systems that are beyond beliefs (like that cult that swallowed an entire Oregon town whole). Cinefamily is dedicating an entire evening to a handful of different types of cults. At 7:30 p.m., the organization will be broadcasting screenings of archival news broadcasts and rare videos from the cults themselves. General admission is $12.

Celebrate the beginning of Memorial Day weekend with a three-day festival. There will be an epic parade supplemented by traditional country fair games. Sack races, pie eating contests, water balloon wars and three-legged races will be on tap for the entire family to enjoy. General admission is $20 and children under 5 are free.

Drive-In Movie: All About Eve

Make it a late Sunday night for Memorial Day weekend with something epic and vintage. How about a vintage drive-in movie at Electric Dusk? The outdoor screening will be featuring the movie “All About Eve,” a 1950 flick that was nominated for 14 Academy Awards. Snuggle up in the backseat and BYOB (bring your own blankets).
