Ice skate outdoors in Santa Monica as the corner of 5th and Arizona transforms into ICE at Santa Monica. You'll have plenty of room for skating on the 8,000 square foot rink; very small kids have their own rink to learn on without worry of being knocked over. Visiting Santa, and other fun activities take place throughout the season. The ice rink is open daily through January 20th, 2014.

Take a road trip to the Inland Empire to experience one of SoCal's best light displays at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa in Riverside. Everyone wants to see Disneyland during the holidays. Skip the lines and visit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this week before the holiday rush is in full swing; you'll still enjoy the great Disney shows (like the new World of Color Winter Dreams" and "Believe... in Holiday Magic" fireworks show), the beautiful decor, holiday rides (like "it's a small world holiday" and "jingle cruise"), as well as magical interactions and surprises in nearly every corner of the park, you just won't have to wait very long.

The Dana Point Harbor's Parade of Lights begins this Friday with a holiday open house, visits from Santa, carolers, and of course the parade itself. The parade can be viewed from anywhere in the harbor or you can make a reservation at your favorite wharf-viewing restaurant to enjoy the sites from indoors. If you can't make it out this Friday, the event also runs on the 8th, as well as the weekend of the 13th and 14th.

Another popular SoCal boat parade takes place this weekend in Huntington Beach. The 2013 Huntington Harbour Boat Parade is themed "Music From Around the World" and will feature a fun and lively lineup of festive boats, a tradition that has run for over 50 years. The two-day event takes place this weekend and offers guests great views from anywhere in the harbor.

Kids of all ages will enjoy the Red Chair Children's Production of the holiday classic ballet: The Nutcracker. The two-hour performance is a great introduction to the show, which wraps its three day tour today.
