For film fans you must check out the LACMA's exhibit dedicated to filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. The retrospective, co-presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, chronicles the director's major works from his 1957's anti-war "Paths of Glory" to his final head-scratcher, "Eyes Wide Shut." You will see personal scripts and photographs dating back to the 1940s. Highlights also include an alternate ending to "2001: A Space Odyssey" and sections dedicated to Kubrick's use of technology and his unfinished projects. Tickets cost $20.

Pizzeria Ortica and The Bruery have teamed up for the debut of the restaurant's new beer dinner series. On Thursday May 2 at 7:30 p.m. Executive Chef Justin Miller will serve a special five-course menu with select beer pairings from The Bruery's Jonas Nemura, who will be on hand to provide his expertise on the brews. The menu -- which will include items like Rigatoni alla Carbonara with fava beans and peas and braised rabbit with leeks, roasted ramps, aged balsamic and polenta -- is available for $80 per person. Limited seating is available and reservations are required.

Planes of Fame Air Museum will celebrate the Lockheed P-38 Lightning and the pilots that flew them during the 2013 Air Show. On May 3, the public and museum members are invited to an airshow preview event consisting of aircraft arrivals and practice flights. The Planes of Fame Airshow will craft like World War II fighters and bombers, air demonstrations, military vehicles vendors and more. Gates open at 8 a.m. and parking is free. Admission is $20 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 11 and free for children under 5.

The 57th Annual Conejo Valley Days festival, taking place at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks, celebrates the area's western roots. The four-day event, sponsored by Children Skills for Life, features entertainment for the whole family like motocross freestyle exhibitions, carnival rides, Electric Nights DJs, games, a Western-themed Main Street and saloon, business expo and a food court. The motocross exhibitions, expo and live entertainment are included with general admission. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for kids 6 through 12 and free for kids 5 and under.

The Greek Theatre will kick off its 2013 season on Cinco De Mayo with hometown favorites, Los Lobos for their second Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival with Robert Randolph, Los Super 7, and Willie G of the Midnighters. Special guests Kinky, El Chicano and Pedro Torres Y Su Mariachi are also scheduled to perform. The Greek Theatre Plaza Stage will feature La Santa Cecilia, Los Fabulocos and Making Movies for a full day of music and celebration beginning at 3 p.m.
