More Info
The Actors’ Gang was co-founded in 1981 by Tim Robbins, who still serves as the artistic director. After spending many successful years in Hollywood the Gang relocated to the classic, 99 seat Ivy Substation in newly beautified downtown Culver City. Built in 1907 the Ivy Substation is registered as a National Historic Cultural Monument. Though the company has been around for almost thirty years, their mission has stayed the same “to create bold, original works for the stage and daring reinterpretations of the classics.” So, we thank you Actors’ Gang, for making everything old new again.

Circus Theatricals may be a staple on the Los Angeles stage scene but it was actually founded in New York City in 1983. In 1995 founder and artistic director Jack Stehlin ventured west and set up residence in Los Angeles. They have been presenting eminent and experimental theater ever since. Circus Theatricals considers “their studio ensemble to be the engine of their creativity and the true source of their talent.” One notable member, Alfred Molina, has graced the award winning stages of the historic Hayworth Theater since the company took over the space in 2005. What can we say? The circus is in town and hopefully it is staying in town.

Theatre 68
5419 W Sunset Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90027
(323) 467-6688
More Info
Theatre 68 may be an acting company but its members like to think of it as one big, happy family. Ronnie Marmo and Danny Cistone co-founded the 68 Cent Crew in 2000 and all of their hard work has paid off. The pair transformed an old, empty warehouse at Sunset and Western into a state of the art 93-seater. Cistone, serving as Technical Director, will blow your mind with his set design. You need just sit through one production to realize the blood, sweat and tears that are put into each performance. This crew is worth much more than 68 cents.
