The Rainbow Bar and Grill, affectionately known as the The Rainbow Room, is indisputably the greatest place on the strip to rock it. This goes for the food, the bars, the bands and most importantly the patrons. The restaurant first opened on April 16, 1972 with a party for Elton John and soon became a happening hang out for many a celebrity. The food is all homemade and just like your Nona would serve back in the day. Old fashioned spaghetti, meatballs, house salads and garlic bread are just a few of the menu items that deserve applause.

There are two bars. One inside, which is dark and intimate and the other outside, which is loud and festive. Up the steep and narrow stairs to the top floor there is a comfy little club called "Over the Rainbow" which offers a full bar, dance floor, and DJ booth. Although all of these perks make the Rainbow Room an enjoyable place to spend an evening, it's the pictures, gold records and memorabilia of rockers past and present hanging on every wall that make it so entertaining. Oh, and let's not forget the real live rockers that call the Rainbow Bar and Grill home. They are the ultimate reason one would want to experience this staple on Sunset Boulevard.
